For a show in Germany a few years ago I borrowed a friend’s guitar. I wasn’t picky because the guitar part was easy to cover and in the grand scheme not really important. That borrowed guitar happened to be a very nice Fender Stratocaster. I had never played a Strat before and the whole pickup and volume/tone control setup made me scratch my head more than once. But that guitar sounded so alive and organic. Consequently I started again listening to some famous Strat players, such as Jeff Beck, David Gilmour and more.
I started looking around for an inexpensive Strat when I returned home. Then I found that Schecter makes this Strat-like 7 string guitar. Not very expensive either. Like all Schecter guitars I have checked out, this one is very well made. I have been using it live a lot in recent years and it appears on The Timeflies‘ most recent album Dawn.
