Polychords
This snippet comes from a project I have been working on. It’s a recording of various larger pieces – partially orchestrated – which were directly or indirectly inspired by music of my favorite Rock bands. This piece is called Pink Floyd and has been influenced by ‘Dark Side of the Moon’.
Admittedly some of the chord symbols don’t fully represent the voicings. I have been interested in Polychords long before I picked up the Stick. On the guitar they are much harder to come up with because there are normally only six strings.
Even on Stick I didn’t even think about Polychords before I changed the tuning on my bass side. After that closed voiced triads became possible on both sides and exploring what two triads sound like against each other is pretty fascinating.
